About Palm Glycerin
Glycerine is the co-product released whenever a triglyceride is split, whether through saponification in soap making, transesterification in biodiesel production, or hydrolysis in oleochemical processing. Palm-based glycerine is that stream, purified by distillation and ion exchange until it reaches the clear, colourless, odourless syrup that pharmacopoeia grades require.
Its usefulness comes from being strongly hygroscopic and completely non-toxic. It draws and holds water, which makes it the default humectant across an enormous range of products. Moisturisers, soaps, toothpaste, cough syrups, e-liquids, baked goods and confectionery all rely on it to stay soft and hold moisture. It is also a solvent, a sweetener, a plasticiser and an antifreeze depending on where it lands.
Grade matters and the difference is real. USP and BP pharmaceutical grade at 99.5% minimum purity is required for medicine, food and personal care. Technical grade at 95 to 99% serves industrial applications such as antifreeze, plasticisers, textile processing and chemical synthesis, at a materially lower price. Buying pharmaceutical grade for a technical application is one of the most common and most expensive procurement mistakes in this category.
iFlowdeck supplies palm-based glycerine in both grades, in 250 kg drums, IBC totes and bulk ISO tanks, with a certificate of analysis on every consignment. Because glycerine is a vegetable-derived product, it also satisfies halal, kosher and vegan requirements that tallow-derived glycerine cannot.
